# MB at the right in the status line of DrRacket

What amount of memory is shown at the right in the status line of DrRacket?  
The Task Manager of Windows always shows a consumption of 200 to 300 MB more, even immediately after opening DrRacket without file.

It's the amount returned by `current-memory-use`. It isn't the same number that the OS reports but they both go in the same directions, at least!
