Currently it is not possible to use picts in plot ticks, which means no LaTeX in particular (`latex-pict` works great for point-labels).

Does any have a workaround?

(Btw, since it's not trivial, I'm using [this](https://gist.github.com/Metaxal/0cb555abb0d928d2d892ee92580d3623?permalink_comment_id=4537071#gistcomment-4537071) to place string labels on ticks. But that works only for strings.)

Nevermind, I'm resorting to `point-pict` instead --- the figure is a little bulkier, but I can live with it.
