# Racket v8.11.1 Release Thread

The release process for v8.11.1 has started. Racket 8.11.1 is a  
bugfix release to address issues in Racket 8.11.

Specifically, it turns out that we need to repair a problem with building from source using the built-packages source distribution.

Bugfix releases follow an expedited release process; even if you have  
responsibilities during the regular release process, you are not  
expected to take action unless specifically requested by release  
management.

A further announcement will follow when Racket 8.11.1 is out.
