When I run raco pkg install --auto, the following shows and I have no idea why this happened XD.

inflate: unknown inflate type
  context...:
   /usr/share/racket/collects/file/gunzip.rkt:853:2: loop

This is probably a failure somewhere in getting the package that ends up getting discovered at the unpacking stage and being reported badly.

Does it happen with all packages, or just specific ones?
