We are happy to announce that RacketCon 2023 is on! Mark
your calendars:

  • Date October 28 & 29, 2023
  • Time 9 am to 5 pm, 10 am to 1 pm on Sunday
  • Place Department of Computer Science, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA

A speaker lineup is not yet finished. Anything Racket-y, whether it's your latest & greatest Racket work or that tried & true library/#lang, is welcome. Please stand up & write to the organizers (Jesse Alama & Robby Findler). You are also welcome to nominate a speaker, in the same way. We are also looking for tutorials (1-2 hours) on any Racket subject that gets you fired up to share with others. If you would like to suggest a topic for a tutorial, without necessarily standing up to take the lead on it, that's also fine. Just contact the organizers at the
email address above.

As organization develops, we will make it available on the RacketCon homepage. (As I write this, the page still points to the 2022 edition of RacketCon. Expect an updated version very soon.) We will also add updates here on Discourse, as well as in the official #racketcon channel on Discord.

In what time zone are the times specified?

I guess the time zone of the location where the conference happens. :slight_smile:

I expect there'll be some info on how that translates to other time zones, like with the monthly online meeting.

That's right: all times are relative to the America/Chicago timezone.

Due to previously unknown constraints at the venue, RacketCon 2023 has been pushed back one week. The new dates are thus

An initial version of the RacketCon 2023 web page has now been installed! So far we've got one talk lined up next to the traditional Racket core team talks on Sunday (including a bonus Rhombus status update).

As mentioned earlier, RacketCon needs you! If you're doing anything Racket-y, please do stand up and contact the organizers!

Just a reminder: although we have lined up an impressive list of speakers so far for 2023, a few spots remain open. If you're interested in presenting your Racket work, just let us know (just send email to me at jesse@serverracket.com). Now is the time for all good Racketeers to come to the aid of RacketCon!
